Inclusive Play Symposium at Anchorage Museum 2018 Design Week.

I wanted to connect you all to the Anchorage Design Week calendar of events, and in particular the Inclusive Play Symposium, happening Wed., Sept. 12th and Thurs., Sept. 13th at the Anchorage Museum. Links below.

This event is being hosted by a number of collaborating partners and will offer continuing education credits through UAA, thanks to Melanie Sutton at the Anchorage School District! I encourage you to share this invite far and wide to those you think might be interested in participating this great event. Space is limited!

The event includes national and local speakers who share a focus on the use of play spaces for child development and community inclusion. The event will also feature workshop opportunities to share your perspectives, expertise, knowledge and interests. Finally, the symposium offers the opportunity to collectively highlight and advance inclusion and create actionable change in our own community by focusing on an upcoming Anchorage Parks & Recreation project.

There will be a 1.0 credit University of Alaska course available to registered participants, which translates to 45 PDH’s for registered AELS design professionals. In order to receive UA credit, registration is required for the Symposium through Design Week, and with UA Online (instructions below).

Please share this far and wide amongst your peers. The mixing and mingling of therapists, support service providers, teachers, parents, allies and advocates, designers of schools and parks, and all others interested in the topic is what will make this event a success.

If you have any questions you are welcome to reach out to Chapter Secretary Jonny Hayes at jhayes@anchoragemuseum.org
