Chapter Sponsored Events: "Five Seasons: The Gardens of Piet Oudolf"
The Alaska Design Forum reached out to the chapter for an
Alaska Chapter ASLA is proud to be the major sponsor of the upcoming Alaska Design Forum showing of "Five Seasons: The Gardens of Piet Oudolf." This is BIG for us, because its something new for our chapter!
"Five Seasons: The Gardens of Piet Oudolf" will be showing in Fairbanks, Juneau, and Anchorage next week, with proceeds going to local botanical organizations in each of the cities that the film is showing.
There is a suggested $5 donation at the door. We ask that you go to enjoy this film, support your local botanical gardens, and also share in this public awareness opportunity for Landscape Architecture across the state. Introducing the film in each of the cities will also be members of the executive board as follows:

Suggested $5 donation at the door, proceeds go to the Alaska Botanical Garden
Introduced by Jonny Hayes, PLA. He is currently the Chapter Secretary and is employed as the Design Director at the Anchorage Museum. Jonny has served on the board in numerous functions, most recently as president, and is currently doing great work in merging work by Landscape Architects with other artists and design professionals at the Anchorage Museum.

Introduced by Leah Buron, ASLA. She is currently the Chapter Vice President of the Interior and works as a Landscape Designer at Earthscape. Leah has served many consecutive years on the board and provides a steady voice for landscape architecture in the Interior.

Introduced by Michele Elfers, PLA and Chapter Trustee. She is currently the Chief Landscape Architect at the City and Borough of Juneau. Michelle was also recently recognized for her work at the legislative level in helping preserve and advocate for state licensure and received the 2017 Rising Star award from ASLA National.
