Anchorage Design Week 2023

The Anchorage Museum is pleased to announce that registration has opened for our upcoming Winter Session starting on February 23rd. This seasonal slate of programs includes a behind-the-scenes studio tour, continuing education opportunities, a few moments to connect and make new friends, and a celebration of winter nights and our community alongside the start of the Fur Rondy Festival. In addition to public programming Anchorage Design Week and the Anchorage Museum are excited to host a 4th-year architecture studio from the University of Texas at Arlington who are contributing to research and ideation along the Alaska Long Trail and connecting with local firms and professionals to learn more about our distinct place.

Once you’ve claimed your spot, we invite you to share with family, friends, and colleagues to continue building community capacity and connect ambitious Alaskans with creative peers and content. You are encouraged to register for events at the link above and follow Anchorage Design Week on Instagram to receive announcements.

  • Celebrate design in the city's original anchorage with a behind-the-scenes tour of adaptive reuse and creative spaces during the Ship Creek Studio Tour on Thursday, February 23rd. This event requires registration and space is limited.

  • Join the Alaska Long Trail Symposium on Friday, February 24th to learn more about the concept of a long trail connecting Seward to Fairbanks and the ongoing research and design engagements along the way. The event will be in-person, requires registration, and space is limited. Morning refreshments and a lunch from local favorite Urban Greens will be provided.

  • Hang out after the Symposium and invite a friend or creative coworker to meet downtown at the Seed Lab on Friday night, February 24th for an Anchorage Design Week Happy Hour + PechaKucha Night with appetizers and cash bar hosted by Crush Bistro and the Anchorage Museum while the Alaska Design Forum debuts a special edition of PechaKucha Night complete with local design professionals put on the hot seat.

This major community event is organized and hosted by the Anchorage Museum with collaborating partners the Alaska Design Forum and AIGA Alaska.


Anchorage Design Week 2023 is made possible with support from: Alaska Chapter ASLA, Bettisworth North, Corvus Design, Davis Constructors & Engineers, KPB Architects, MCG Explore Design, Resysta Building Products, RSA Engineering, and Salt LLC. Anchorage Design Week is organized by the Anchorage Museum with collaborating partners Alaska Design Forum and AIGA Alaska. Anchorage Design Week is a member of World Design Weeks and currently serves on the Board of Directors representing North America.
