Naomi Ratte, CSLA

Naomi Ratte.jpg

Naomi began her career in 2017 with NVision Insight Group Inc., focusing on projects in the Canadian Territory of Nunavut that centered on interpretive planning, community engagement, and territorial park management. Today, she continues to lead special projects across Nunavut, Ontario, and Manitoba, skillfully bridging innovative design with a deep commitment to cultural and environmental stewardship. As a proud member of Peguis First Nation with Pakistani heritage, Naomi’s practice is uniquely informed by her diverse background, allowing her to explore complex intersections within her design approach and artistic work.

Beyond her professional projects, Naomi is a prominent leader in the design community, serving as Co-Chair of the Reconciliation Advisory Committee for the Canadian Society of Landscape Architects (CSLA). Her dedication to education and advocacy is reflected in her roles as the co-founder of the Indigenous Design and Planning Students Association at the University of Manitoba and as a contributor to the Canadian Centre for Architecture. Notably, she also served as a guest editor for the Spring 2024 issue of Landscape Paysages, marking the 90th anniversary of the CSLA.
