Lika immigrated from the country, Georgia to the US in 2009 and graduated from South Anchorage High school in 2017. She has lived in Anchorage for seven years and will be attending Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, California to study Landscape Architecture. She says she became interested in the field of Lanscape Architecturewhen she found out about it her Junior year because of her love for the outdoors, art, and science. Congratulations Lika, and good luck at Cal Poly! #scholars

Per the Schools on Trails facebook page, Interpretive signage on the flora and fauna of Russian Jack Springs Park was installed in the Nunaka Valley Elementary Learning Labs this week. This past weekend ASLA got together with members from the Georgeson Botanical Garden Society to help with site design and master plan suggestions at the gardens moving into the 2017 summer season. We are so excited to have to opportunity to work with a wonderful group in Fairbanks to brainstorm ideas to fulfill both short term and long-range ideas.
